Additional number of National Guard personnel sent to Washington

US Department of Defense officials are contacting governors of various provinces and requesting an additional number of National Guard personnel to be sent to Washington for the security of the Parliament House complex and the city.

A Department of Defense official associated with the case said law enforcement agencies and other officials believed they would need about 25,000 personnel from the National Guard for protection and this number could also increase.

According to information received by officials from various provinces, by Friday morning, they will have 22,000 National Guard personnel available. This step is being taken due to the situation arising out of the recent attack on the US Parliament House by Trump supporters.
