Afghanistan’s Human Rights Commission has confirmed the deaths of 12 children in an airstrike carried out by the army in the country’s northeastern province of Takhar. US Special Representative in Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad gave this information on Twitter on Sunday. He tweeted, it is a terrible accident. Unfortunately, the incident is not confined only to the Takhr province, but the Taliban in the country carry out car bombings, IEDs and other attacks targeting ordinary civilians. Common citizens from Lashkar Gah and other areas of Afghanistan have been forced to leave their homes.

We express our condolences to the families of those killed and injured in the accident. The US representative said that the United States is doing everything possible to restore peace between the Afghan government and the Taliban at the earliest. Peace talks are underway in Doha, the capital of Qatar, between the two sides.

A suicide bombing near an educational center in the capital Kabul killed 30 people and injured more than 70. According to Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security, the attacker was trying to enter the educational institution. The terrorist organization ISIS has claimed responsibility for this incident. Earlier, the Taliban denied any involvement in the incident.
