After vaccination adverse events can occur for which states should prepare

Press conference on Tuesday by the Union Ministry of Health and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) regarding the status of the Covid-19 epidemic in the country. Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, Ministry of Health here said that India is among the countries which has the lowest number of corona cases per 10 lakh population. He said that the number of corona cases per 10 lakh population in India is 7178, while its global average is 9000. Along with this, he said that after vaccination, adverse events can occur, for which states should prepare.

It was informed by the Ministry of Health that more than 15.55 crore samples of Covid-19 have been tested in the country so far. The infection rate in the country has fallen to 6.37 percent. He said that India currently has a mortality rate of 1.45% due to Covid-19, which is the lowest in the world. Dr. VK Paul, Member (Health), NITI Aayog present at the press conference expressed satisfaction over the condition of Corona infection in Delhi. He said, ‘We are happy to see that the situation in Delhi has improved. We congratulate the Government of Delhi and other Governments who have contributed significantly in preventing infection in recent times.

Dr. Paul said that this week the Drugs Controller General of India has approved clinical trials for another potential vaccine in India. He said that this vaccine has been prepared by Genoa company with the help of Department of Biotechnology, the research agency of the Government of India. He told that the same technique has been used in the manufacture of this vaccine which is in Pfizer’s vaccine. He said that there are some states which we are still worried about. We request the government and people of Uttarakhand, Nagaland and Himachal Pradesh to do everything possible to bring the situation under control. He informed that currently six vaccines in the country are in various stages of clinical trials.
