An earthquake struck Andaman and Nicobar Islands

An earthquake struck Andaman and Nicobar Islands at 7.23 pm on Monday. Its intensity on the Richter scale measured 4.1. Its center was in the south-southeast portablare. The National Center for Seismology gave this information. There has been no news of loss of life or property.

Shortly after the earthquake in Andaman, the tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir around 7:50 pm. Earthquake tremors in Kishtwar aroused people. The tremors were also felt in Jammu and Kashmir on February 8 at 4.56 am. Its intensity on the Richter scale was 3.5. Earthquake tremors were also felt in the state in January. Even on December 19, the earth was shaken in the valley.

Earlier on Friday, several states of North India including Delhi-NCR, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal and Punjab felt the tremors of earthquake on Friday night. Tremors were also felt in several cities of UP and Uttarakhand. The epicenter of the earthquake was 74 kilometers below ground in Tajikistan. The Richter-scale earthquake measured 6.3. In most districts of Kashmir division from Kashmir valley, people felt earthquake and ran out of their homes.

The National Seismological Center initially identified the epicenter as the epicenter in Afghanistan and Amritsar, but after investigation the epicenter of the earthquake was found in Tajikistan. The tremor of the earthquake that occurred at 10.31 pm lasted for 40 seconds. The tremors were so intense that people came out of their homes in Delhi NCR.
