BBC's Best Player of the Year Award

Formula One legend and seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton was on Sunday selected for the BBC’s ‘Best Player of the Year Award’. The 35-year-old Hamilton, who equaled Michael Schumacher’s record of seven F1s last month, won the prestigious British broadcaster’s award by beating footballer Jordan Henderson and women’s jockey (equestrian) Holly Doyle in Sunday’s fan poll.

Hamilton, who also openly supported the Black Lives Matter (Black lives matter) campaign this year, had also received the BBC Award in 2014. The six players who were nominated for the award included boxer Tyson Furry, snooker player Ronnie O’Sullivan and cricketer Stuart Broad.
