Chennaiyin FC thrashed Jamshedpur FC 2–1 in the ISL match on Tuesday with a goal from Indian international player Anirudha Thapa in the very first minute.
Jamshedpur FC had a poor start and lost the first minute goal which Anirudh Thapa did. Sometime later Ismail Goncalvez doubled the lead in the 26th minute from the penalty spot and ensured Chennaiyin started their campaign with a win.
At the end of the first half, last season’s Golden Boot winner Nerijas Valaskis (37th minute) scored for Jamshedpur but Owen Koel’s team did not get any advantage.
Jamshedpur’s English defender Peter Hartley missed a golden opportunity in the seventh minute to bring his team to a 1–1 draw and his free-kick shot went off target.
