The Congress party has expelled its MLA Rajdeep Gowala from the party for six years in Assam. A statement issued by the Congress said that the party has taken this decision for Gowla’s anti-party activities.
The party’s general secretary of the party, KC Venugopal, said in a statement, “The Congress president has approved the proposal to expel Rajdeep Gowala from the party for six years for his involvement in anti-party activities.”
Please tell that Rajdeep Gowala is an MLA from Lakhipur Assembly constituency in Barak Valley area of Assam. Congress sources say that he was in touch with the BJP for some time, due to which the party leadership has taken such a decision.
It is noteworthy that Bharatiya Janata Party leader and state government minister Hemant Vishwa Sharma claimed a few months ago at the time of Rajya Sabha elections that Rajdeep Gowala would join BJP along with some other Congress MLAs.
