A hospital in Qingdao, China, saw a sharp jump in cases of Covid-19, due to not being properly infection-free, due to which more than one crore people are being investigated in the city. A senior official of the local health department gave this information on Friday.
More than 10 million people investigated in the city, none have been found infected with the corona virus. Ma Lixin, deputy head of a team of the Provincial Health Commission, said that the CT room of the Qingdao Chest Hospital had seen a sharp surge in cases of Covid-19 in Qingdao city due to the infection not being properly cleared.
The government-run news agency ‘Xinhua’ quoted Lixin as saying that the cases of Covid-19 are not likely to gain momentum due to people coming in contact with each other. He said community transition did not spread.
Concerns about the rise in infection in Qingdao had spread across the country as thousands of tourists visited the city during the National Day holidays recently. According to the government-run ‘China Daily’, samples of one crore four lakh people have been tested, out of which 88 lakh samples have been released.
The city’s deputy mayor and head of the Bureau of Public Safety, Sui Ruwen, said that apart from those who had already been sent to separate habitats, there were no more infections. He said that one crore one million people have to be investigated. All people are expected to be examined by Friday.
