Five crore doses of Corona vaccine 'Covishield' will be given to India first

On Monday, Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute of India, gave a sobering news that Four/ Five 4-5 crore doses of Corona vaccine ‘Covishield’ will be given to India first.

He said that we have 4-5 crore doses of Covishield. Once we get regulatory approval in a few days, it is for the government to decide how much it can take and how fast it can take. We will produce around 30 crore doses by July 2021.

He further said that in the first six months of 2021, there will be a global shortage and there is no solution. But by August-September 2021, other vaccine manufacturers will also be able to supply the vaccine.
