The Marcos (MARCOS) commando force of the Indian Navy has been deployed near Pangong Lake in East Ladakh amidst the ongoing deadlock between India and China. The Navy’s Special Marine Commando force is called Marcos. From the first day of the standoff here, the commandos of Garuda of the Indian Air Force and Para Special Forces of the Indian Army have been standing. Marine Commandos = MarCos are abbreviated as Marcos.
Government sources said the purpose of the deployment of Marine commandos is to increase the integration of the three services and provide exposure to naval commandos in the event of extreme cold weather. Sources said, ‘Marcos has been deployed in the Pangong Lake area, where Indian and Chinese forces have been in conflict since April-May this year.’ He said that Navy commandos would also soon get new boats for operation in the lake.
Let us tell that between the ongoing deadlock between the two countries, Army and Air Force personnel have been standing here since the beginning. Several rounds of talks have been held between India and China so far. Even after this, no consensus has been reached on the removal of the army from eastern Ladakh. With this, it has now been almost decided that the soldiers of both the countries will have to remain for many months to come amidst the freezing cold.
Even after the eighth round of talks between the corps commanders on November 6, no concrete progress has been made between the two countries. Due to this, the military deadlock that has been going on for the last seven months still remains.
