Australian wicket keeper Matthew Wade believes that India’s strong fast attack on the upcoming tour of Australia will not be as effective as that of New Zealand’s Neil Wegner who throws bouncers. Wegner had showered bouncers on the Australian batsmen during the Test series last season, dismissing them ten times, including Steve Smith, David Warner and Marnus Labuschen.
The Indian team has to tour Australia at the end of the year. “Teams can try but I don’t think they will succeed,” Wade told Cricket.com.au. I don’t think anyone would have thrown as many bouncers as Wegner did and that too consistently. He also cracked wickets. Indian bowlers will try too, but I don’t think they will be as effective. Wegner has experience. I have not seen a bowler who puts bouncers so accurately.
Wade said the series against Virat Kohli’s team will be one of the toughest challenges for Tim Payne’s team. He said, ‘Everyone is waiting for it, it will take hard work. The Indian team is aggressive and presents a tough challenge.
