America’s newly elected President Joe Biden has said that in the first three months of his term, 100 million people will be given the Corona virus vaccine. Biden pledged to provide 10 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine in the first 100 days upon assuming office.
Introducing his team to combat the epidemic, Biden said in Delaware on Tuesday that the new government would initially have the top three priorities. He appealed to the American public to wear masks for the next 100 days to prevent the corona virus from spreading. He said that it has been made mandatory in federal offices and public transport services.
After this, Biden also promised to distribute the vaccine among 100 million American people in the same period. The newly elected president said that he hoped that within the first 100 days of his term the virus would be brought under control so that most of the schools could be reopened. Re-sending children to school should be a national priority, Biden said.
Earlier, Biden said that he would first appeal to American citizens to wear masks for 100 days after taking over as president. The newly elected president’s move is considered notable because Donald Trump never considered wearing a mask to prevent the corona virus.
Many public health experts say that wearing masks is a very effective way of overcoming this epidemic. The infection has killed more than 2,75,000 people in the US. Biden has been a vocal supporter of wearing masks and has described it as a way of expressing patriotism. Biden strongly supported it even during the election campaign.
