England fast bowler Jofra Archer was fined and given an official warning. He was violating the strict segregation protocol imposed for the restoration of international cricket. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said in a statement on Saturday that the sentence was given after a disciplinary hearing on Friday evening.
The Barbados-born Archer had violated the Bio-Safe Protocol by going home after the first Test against the West Indies. He then apologized for doing so and he was then dropped from the squad for the second Test against the West Indies starting on Thursday and is on a five-day standoff. He will have to undergo two Covid-19 probes and join the rest of the team on Tuesday only when negative will get.
