Journalist Rajiv Sharma granted full bail in Dhubri court On July 22, the court extended the journalist’s interim bail till July 31.
It may be recalled that Rajiv Sharma, a journalist of a satellite channel in the state, was arrested by the police from his residence in Gauripur in the district on July 15 at around 2 am while working in Dhubri. Unfortunately, Rajiv Sharma’s father died at his home in Gauripur on July 17, the day after he was locked up at the Dhuburi Sadar police station. It is pertinent to mention here that the newly transferred and former Dhuburi District Forest Officer has filed a complaint against Biswajit Roy in connection with the money claim. Sharma was arrested by the police in connection with the case, in july 16 though the Dhuburi court was granted interim bail for three days, i.e. till July 18.
On July 18, the court extended the journalist’s interim bail to July 22. On July 22, the court extended the journalist’s interim bail till July 31 and finally Rajiv Sharma was granted full bail by the Dhubri court today.
