Mehbooba Mufti’s People’s Democratic Party has suffered a major setback amid political tensions in Jammu and Kashmir. On Thursday, three party leaders resigned simultaneously. It includes Dhaman Bhasin, Phulel Singh and Pritam Kotwal.
He resigned saying that communal elements have hijacked the party. In such a situation, we have no choice but to leave the party. It is known that the problems of PDP are increasing day by day. The party’s youth wing president, Wahid ur Rehman Para, was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday for conspiring with terrorists Hizbul Mujahideen to co-operate with terrorists during the 2019 parliamentary elections. Recently he got his nomination from Pulwama in South Kashmir for the District Development Council (DDC) elections.
Para was an important leader of the PDP in South Kashmir, especially in militant-hit Pulwama. His name surfaced during the investigation of the suspended DSP Davinder Singh case. An NIA spokesman said that the investigating agency arrested the youth wing leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Wahid ur Rehman Para, in connection with the Navid Babu-Davinder Singh case.
