Nine players and three officials breached the ‘bio-bubble’ during the ongoing National T20 Cup in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. This information was given by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday.
These include some players from the national team as well. Angered by the violation of the Covid-19 protocol at a hotel in Rawalpindi, the PCB said that in the future if a player or official violates the ‘bio-bubble’, he will be immediately eliminated from the tournament.
The PCB did not name the players but according to media reports, Fakhar Zaman, Imam ul Haq, Khurram Manzoor, Mohammad Hafeez, Rashid Khan, Basit Ali, Kamran Akmal, Sohail Khan, Abdul Razzaq, Anwar Ali, Yasir Shah and Osman Shinwari Yeh Are the players.
Nadeem Khan, director of the PCB’s ‘High Performance Center’, called this completely unacceptable. “The PCB is upset and disappointed that some senior players and officials violated the biologically safe bubble during the National T20 Cup,” he said. This jeopardized the reputation of the tournament and the health of their teammates. ‘
Pakistan bowling coach and former captain Waqar Younis Covid -19 is worried about the mental health of players playing cricket internationally or domestically in a bio-bubble environment amid the epidemic. Waqar said he was concerned that many players could face mental health issues if Pakistan continued to play for longer in the current state of Corona.
He said, “This situation is not just with Pakistan cricket but this concern is for the entire cricket world.” He said that it is difficult for the players to spend time in long-term isolation and bio-safe environment.
