Pathankot police are on alert on the fifth anniversary of repeated drone infiltration and Pathankot airbase attack in Gurdaspur, Punjab. The squads of the district police, Delta commandos, BSF and deadly commandos, along with other security forces, conducted search operations in many villages along the Indo-Pak border and around the zero line. More than 50 special commandos carried out search operations especially along the border areas and along the banks of the Ujj river.

The villages adjacent to the zero line are being monitored by armored vehicles. The police administration has warned common citizens not to go within one kilometer of the international border from eight to five in the night. At the same time, BSF has increased the vigil in Narot Jaimal Singh and Bamial. In Narot Jaimal Singh and Bamiyal, BSF along with police investigated the fields, Ravi river and Chowk area.

Police have put up blocks at 32 places in Pathankot city area. Of these, 18 blocks are built in the city while 14 blocks are built in the border areas. The command of the security of the entire district has been handed over to 350 police personnel. With this, Madhopur, the gateway of Jammu and Kashmir, is bordering Punjab. This is why police security has been doubled here. Checking is being done at T-points and various other places in Madhopur.

SP Operation Hempushp Sharma, who is heading the search operation, said that the police have strengthened security arrangements in the area in view of the activities unfolding on the Indo-Pakistan border in Gurdaspur. The rumor is being monitored. Search operation and blockade have been increased. Instructions have been issued to all security personnel to be vigilant. Pathankot remains on alert at all times due to its proximity to the Pakistan border. At the same time, SSP Gulneet Khurana said that the suspects are likely to enter Punjab through the said route in the cold. For this reason, search operations are being conducted in these areas.
