News of the successful trial of another vaccine from Corona has seen a great boom in the worldwide markets. Today the stock market closed on the first trading day of the week ie Tuesday. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship index Sensex gained 0.72 per cent to close at 43952.71, up 314.73 points. On the other hand, the National Stock Exchange Nifty gained 0.74 percent (93.95 points) to close at 12874.20.
In early trade today, the Sensex had reached an all-time high of 44,161.16 and the Nifty 12,934.05. In the first five minutes, investors had earned Rs 71 thousand crore.
It is known that American pharmaceutical company Moderna Inc. has said that its experimental vaccine has been found to be 94.5 percent effective in preventing Kovid-19, which continues the market boom. On 16 November 2020, the domestic stock market was closed on the occasion of Diwali Balipratipada.
The index has recovered the entire loss in the year 2020. It closed at 41,306.02 on January 1, 2020. However according to analysts, further market volatility will continue. Hence investors should be cautious. Domestic stock markets are expected to be driven by global cues in the absence of a major factor domestically in the week affected by the holiday. The market capitalization of eight of the top 10 companies increased by Rs 1,90,571.55 crore last week. This shows the positive sentiment of the investors. The BSE Sensex gained 1,744.92 points or 4.16 percent and the NSE Nifty rose 516.70 points or 4.20 percent in the previous week.
Talking about the big stocks, today the shares of Tata Motors, HDFC Life, Tata Steel, SBI and Adani Ports closed on the green mark. On the other hand, shares of BPCL, Hero MotoCorp, NTPC, IOC and ONGC closed at the red mark.
If we look at the sectoral index, today, apart from FMCG, pharma, IT and media, all sectors closed on the green mark. These include PSU banks, banks, private banks, finance services, realty, metals and autos.
The Sensex opened 319.77 points (0.73 per cent) at 43957.75 level and the Nifty started with a gain of 82.20 points (0.64 per cent) at 12862.50. Both indices reached an all-time high on Saturday in the special Muhurat trading session of the beginning of the Hindu Samvat year 2077. On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the Sensex closed up 194.98 points (0.45 per cent) at 43637.98. At the same time, the Nifty started with a gain of 50.60 points (0.40 per cent) at 12770.60. Investors made a profit of around Rs 1.24 lakh crore during this period.
