The second day of the second Test match being played in Chennai was completely named after Team India. First Indian bowlers included England innings for just 134 runs and then batting for the second time, ‘Virat Sena’ has scored 54 runs for the loss of one wicket. India’s only wicket fell as Shubman Gill (14). Based on the first innings, Team India now has a decisive lead of 249 runs. Rohit Sharma (25) and Cheteshwar Pujara (7) returned unbeaten, before Ravichandran Ashwin took five wickets in an innings for the 29th time.
Earlier in the morning, out of 29 runs that India added to their score yesterday, 25 runs came off Pant’s bat, meanwhile he hit two fours and two sixes. England paceman Stone took three wickets for 47 runs. Off-spinner Moeen (four for 128) was his most successful bowler, but he scored a lot of runs. Leach (2 for 78) and Root (1 for 23) were the other bowlers to achieve success.
