The incident occurred in Lothnur village on 22 February, when the hen was brought in for an illegal cock fighting. The knife was tied in the hen’s feet. Due to the knife being tied in the legs, the cock started splashing. Meanwhile, 45-year-old Thanugula Satish’s upper thigh was cut with a Kodi saddle (knife) tied in the hen’s legs. After this, Satish was immediately taken to the nearest hospital, but Satish was declared dead there.
Explain that cock fighting is banned in Telangana, but it was being conducted illegally silently in Yellamma temple. After investigating the matter, the police have taken the chicken to the Gollapalli police station, where it has been kept under the supervision of the police staff. The police has also provided food and water for the chicken.
It has been learned that the police have arrested the chicken. However, the police have denied this. SHO B of Gollapally Jeevan has clarified that the hen is neither arrested nor detained.
