An Afghan National Security Council official said that on Sunday, a terrorist detonated near the Public Protection Unit (detachment of security forces) in a car full of explosives on the outskirts of Ghazni city in eastern province. In this attack, 31 security personnel were killed and 24 others were injured. Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian confirmed the terror attacks. However, they did not state the number of Mahatmas.
In addition, a suicide car dealer in southern Afghanistan targeted a provincial council chief’s convoy in Jubal. The attack killed three people and injured more than 12 people, including children. Provincial Police spokesman Hikmatulla Kochai said the good news is that Atazan Hakayat, the head of the provincial council, narrowly escaped the attack. He has suffered minor injuries. The attack killed the bodyguard of the provincial chief.
So far no terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for the attack on security forces in Ghazni. The Taliban has not yet commented on the incident.
