The flood situation in Kaziranga is steadily improving even though the number of wildlife deaths is increasing day by day. Two more rhinos die in Kaziranga As many as 150 wild animals, including 18 rhinos, have died in the ongoing floods. 105 khatiya deer, 6 buffaloes, 11 pigs and 3 swamp deer died. Out of 150 wild animals, 61 drowned and 20 died on the national highway. Out of 223 forest camps under the Kaziranga Tiger Project, 14 forest camps are currently flooded. About 50 percent of the national park area is still under water.
