The Indian government has become cautious due to a new form of corona virus that has surfaced in Britain. The government has taken a major step to ban aircraft coming from Britain till 31 December. The new virus has led to a re-enactment of lockdown in many areas of the UK, including the capital London.
Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that European countries such as Germany, Belgium and France have stopped air travel with Britain. If we get information about the spread of new strains of Corona virus from other places then we will consider stopping air travel with other countries also.
In this regard, the Ministry of Civil Aviation stated, “In view of the prevailing situation in the UK, the Government of India has decided that all flights coming from Britain to India will be temporarily suspended by 31 December at 11:59 pm. This ban will come into effect from 11:59 pm on 22 December.
The Ministry said, “As a precaution, passengers on board flights coming from the UK (those who have taken flight or those arriving in India before 11.59 pm on 22 December) on arrival at the airports have RT- PCR testing will be mandatory.
At the same time, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said amid concerns about the new strain of Corona virus infection in Britain, the government is alert and there is no need to panic. Harshvardhan said that the government has done everything in the last one year, which was important to deal with Kovid-19.
Responding to a question asked about concerns about a new form of infection of the corona virus and a demand for a ban on flights from the UK, he said, “I would like to say that these are hypothetical situations, these are fictitious things, they are fictitious There are concerns… Keep yourself away from it. Harshvardhan said, the government is fully aware of everything. If you ask me, there is no need to panic so much as seen in this press conference.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted on Monday, ‘New mutations of Corona have been detected in the UK which is a super spreader. I appeal to the central government to immediately ban all flights coming from the UK.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said, ‘The new form of corona virus that has emerged in Britain is a matter of great concern. Government of India should take immediate action. An action plan should be prepared. Also, all flights coming from the UK and other European countries should be banned immediately.
