The day of 31 December 2020 the stock market closed at almost flat level. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship index Sensex closed up 5.11 points at 47751.33 with a slight gain of 0.01 percent. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 13981.75 with a gain of 0.20 points. Earlier, it was closing on the edge for six consecutive trading sessions.
It is known that the entire loss in the year 2020 has been recovered. It closed at 41,306.02 on January 1, 2020. But according to analysts, further market volatility will continue. Hence investors should be cautious.
Talking about the big stocks, today shares of HDFC, Sun Pharma, Divis Lab, ICICI Bank and Asian Paints closed on the green mark. Shares of UltraTech Cement, Grasim, Shree Cement, Bharti Airtel and TCS closed at the red mark.
If we look at the sectoral index, today banks, FMCG, IT, private banks and PSU banks closed on the red mark. Pharma, finance services, realty, media, auto and metal are on the green mark.
In early trade, the Sensex was down 106.53 points (0.22 per cent) to open at 47639.69 and the Nifty was down 0.23 per cent (31.70 points) at 13950.30. After this, the Sensex was up 85.48 points at 47831.70 at 10.37 am and the Nifty rose 0.13 percent to 14000.30.
The stock market closed on the green mark for the sixth consecutive trading session on Wednesday. The Sensex was up 133.14 points to end at 47746.22, up 0.28 percent. At the same time, the Nifty closed at 13981.95 with a gain of 0.35 per cent (49.35 points).
