The Uttar Pradesh Police has filed a detailed reply before the Supreme Court in the case of Bikash Dubey and his associates. It said that all these encounters were correct and cannot be termed as fake.
The Supreme Court heard petitions seeking a probe by the CBI under its supervision of the encounter of gangster Bikash Dubey and his associates. During the hearing, the Uttar Pradesh government had told the court that it would file a status report regarding the steps taken in relation to the encounters with Bikash Dubey and his associates.
The petitions filed in this regard will heard on Monday by a bench of the Supreme Court, headed by the Chief Justice of India. The court hearing two petitions filed by two lawyers named Ghanshyam Upadhyay and Anoop Prakash Awasthi.
The bench of Chief Justice SA Bobde was hearing these petitions. The court had said that it could consider setting up a panel headed by a former judge to investigate the killing of Bikash Dubey and his associates in the encounter and the killing of eight police personnel. At the same time, the court set the date of July 20 for the next hearing on the matter.
