UNICEF has said that an estimated 3,71,504 children will be born worldwide on the first day of the new year

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has said that an estimated 3,71,504 children will be born worldwide on the first day of the new year. Of these, around 60,000 children are estimated to be born in India. This year about 14 crore children will be born.

UNICEF estimates that more than half of the children are born in 10 countries on the first day of the New Year. There are 59,995 children in India, 35,615 in China, 21439 in Nigeria, 14,161 in Pakistan, 12,336 in Indonesia, 12,006 in Ethiopia, 10,312 in the US, 9,455 in Egypt, 9,236 in Bangladesh and 8,640 children in Congo. UNICEF said that children born on Friday in India can live beyond 80 years.

Last year, 3,92,078 children were born on the same day in the world. On January 1, 2020, 67,385 children were born in India, while 46,299 children were born in China. Nigeria was third with 26,039 children born. According to UNICEF, about 60 to 70 thousand children are born in India on January 1 every year.
