US Attorney General William Barr has resigned. He has previously publicly disagreed over allegations of rigging of President Donald Trump in the US election on November 3. Trump has appointed Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen as Acting Attorney General.
Trump, tweeted Monday night, had a wonderful meeting with Attorney General Barr at the White House. We have a very good relationship. He did a fantastic job. According to the resignation, Barr would step down before Christmas to celebrate the holidays with his family.
Trump said, the highly capable person would be Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen acting Attorney General. The highly respected Richard Donogh will take over as deputy attorney general. Trump also tweeted a photo of the bar’s resignation.
Bar wrote in his letter, next week I will complete some pending tasks. After this, I will step down on December 23. He wrote, I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to work in your administration as Attorney General and serve the American people.
Democratic MP David Siciline accused the bar of causing great harm to democracy and that it would not be missed. Member of Parliament Adam Skiff, chairman of the House Military Service Committee, alleged that Barr lied during Trump’s election campaign.
