In the US, a wildfire is spreading rapidly in the mountainous region east of Los Angeles. In view of this, orders were given to evacuate thousands of people from Southern California on Monday. According to the California Department of Fire, a fire in Riverside County has damaged forest in an area of about 80 square kilometers. Five percent of the fire was contained by Monday morning.
US Forest Service spokeswoman Lisa Cox told Riverside Press Enterprise, “We do not want firefighters send into a dangerous situation.” However, firefighters are trying to extinguish the fire with caution. The help of helicopters is also being taken in this work.
Significantly, on Friday evening, two places in Cherry Valley caught fire due to forest fire. After this, about eight thousand people living in and around the mountainous region were ordered to be shifted to safe places. Smoke is visible from several kilometers away in the relevant area, causing deterioration of air quality.
