Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s two goals helped AC Milan to a 3-1 win over Napoli on Sunday to consolidate their lead at the top of the Serie A football tournament. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a 39-year-old Swedish player in excellent form, has ten goals in six matches in the current season. Another goal from AC Milan was Yens Peter Hogg. The score for Napoli was Dry Martens.
The win brings Milan to sixth place in eight matches with 20 points and a two-point lead at the top of the points table. So far, the team has not lost a match in the season. Second-placed Sasuolo has 18 points and defeated Verona 2–0. In other matches, Inter Milan beat Torino 4–2 while Juventus beat Cagliari 2–0.
Ibrahimovic contributed to AC Milan’s win, but his muscles were stretched at the end of the match. Earlier this season, he could not participate in two matches due to Corona virus. Milan’s assistant trainer Daniele Bonnera reported that he had been off the field for at least two weeks. There seems to be some muscle related problem. Bonera took over in the match as chief coach Stephano Pioli Korana is infected.
Rial Sosidad continued their superb run after the international break to beat Cádiz 1–0 to take a three-point lead to the top of the points table with a sixth consecutive victory in the Spanish Football League. The only goal of the match was scored by Alexandra Issac. The win puts Sosidad on 23 points and overtakes Atlético Madrid who beat Barcelona on their home ground 1–0 on Saturday. Atletico, however, has played only eight matches against Sosidad’s 10. Third-placed Villarreal has 19 points and played a 1–1 draw from fourth-placed Real Madrid on Saturday.
